Palace Mezentceva

Since 1865, Novograd Volyn with surrounding villages came into the possession of the family of Count Uvarov. After a while, one of the daughters of the famous General married Colonel Mezentsev. As a dowry for his daughter gave Earl estate in New Zvyagele, then a village near Novograd Volyn. After the revolution, the village became part of the city and the yellow building, referred to as the home of Mezentsev, is now in the city.

The estate of the palace built by Prince Lubomirski, and the new owner took him to alter. Check the owner`s son had reconstruction V. Mezentsev. Renovated in 1903, the palace has an unusual appearance. It combines elements of three styles: Baroque, Classical and Renaissance. In the late 19th century, a trend in the construction was very popular and was called historicism style. A two-storey brick palace with the tower is covered with plaster and painted with yellow paint. It stands on the banks of the river, which complements its resemblance to a medieval castle, in fact to obtain such an effect sought an architect. The house is built of two parts connected by a hall and a sweeping staircase. Initially, the palace had two towers, but one was destroyed and built again. Near the castle is divided large arboretum.

After the revolution, the house gave the agricultural college, and after a while it became the headquarters of one of the divisions. And the territory of the park appeared to strengthen the so-called "Stalin Line".

Now get into the palace and the park is impossible, since it is a closed area. A traveler who wishes to see the sights, enjoy the facade and left a sign on it with the names of military commanders.
