Church of St. Nicholas, Ovidiopol
Church of St. Nicholas is in Ovidiopol. It was founded in 1823. Prior to the Russian-Turkish war, Ovidiopol was a Turkish village. While in this area, too, was an Orthodox church, bearing the name Nicholas. It is known that the current church was built on the same site as the church that he had built after the founding of Ovidiopol. All this time the church was named St. Nicholas.
The cathedral is an example of holiness, made in classic style: observed proportion of symmetric strict masonry, five domes, columns. Blue walls, large windows, rectangular, blue domes, no excessive gilding. All this creates a fairly calm and reserved kind attractions.
Courtyard of the temple is decorated with flower beds, decorative cypresses, paths of paving slabs, as well as pleasing to the eye brightly painted well, in the form of a large jug and bell tower with the sun shining on the golden dome.
