Market Square, Lutsk

Market Square is one of the oldest and most important areas of Lutsk   not only historical, but also culturally. Here there were trades between cities and countries, held public meetings, walking holidays. The square adjoins the most prestigious streets, where they lived eminent persons of the city.

Market Square is located in the   Historical and Cultural Reserve "Old Lutsk" . Start of construction of this place dates back to the 10th century. Then the area had all   symptoms that are characteristic of the cities of Central Europe. There were city office, city hall and other public buildings.

Market Square has suffered a huge number of fires, the largest of which   in the 18th century destroyed the town hall. After this event, the area has lost its status as an economic center of the city.
