Cathedral of the Assumption, Mezhyrich
The village Mezhirich Sumy region near the river Psyol stands in splendid isolation Assumption Cathedral. He looks so majestic that it can be taken as a medieval castle or monastery, hide behind its walls novices. The cathedral was built in the second half of the 18th century, when the church also serve as a signal structure. It ran here in case of fire, here called all the bells and gaining water to extinguish it. This explains the place of construction of the Assumption Cathedral.
Stone church was built on the money Archimandrite of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra , a native of this village. An example of the architectural style is the Cathedral of the Assumption of Akhtyrka , which, unfortunately, not survived. Uspensky Cathedral is an architectural and cultural monuments of Ukraine.
