Shalyginsky landscape reserve

Shalyginsky Landscape Reserve is located in the village Shalygina in the north-eastern part of the Sumy region. Area of ​​the reserve is 2868.1 hectares. The main part of the protected area is forested. The reserve is dominated by three large forest areas - Monastic, Birch and Bor. The vegetation of the reserve is represented by deciduous forests, which occurs in oak, maple holly, linden and hazel.

On the territory of the landscape reserve also grow and ancient pines.   The flora is rich in rare species of plants, including drugs that are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine and are protected by the state.
