Forest "Big Forest"

Forest reserve of national importance, or as it is called "Big Forest" is a natural museum of pine land. This site was created by chance, it was founded by Professor V. Ogievskii forester in 1897.

In a short span of time from 1912 to 1916. in the reserve were planted more than 200 species of the Scots pine. The seeds were procured more than 2,000 kilometers from their place of disembarkation. The geography of these areas are so diverse that captures the period of the European continent from Poland to Vologdy.Takzhe there were imported from the Baltic pine. In addition to the Baltic pines grow Volyn, Tambov, Orel and Chernigov pine.

In the forest reserve "Big Forest" for many years, a truly magnificent collection of conifers, which is not inferior to the forests of Polesie, created by nature. This array is protected by the state, including the left bank of the river. Gums along the entire length of the park. Reserve exists to preserve and study the gene pool of forest tree species.

In honor of the founder Professor W. Ogievskii was grown pine-giant, which is another attraction of the reserve.
