National Park Northern skirts

In three districts of Lviv region is the National Park of Nature "Northern skirts". Created it in winter 2010. Today the park covers quite a large area in 15587.92 hectares and at the same time refers to Brody, Busskomu and Zolochiv districts.

The idea of ​​creating a park in the Lviv region dates back to the 19th century. It belongs to the local Count V. Didushitskomu. He loved and appreciated nature, so its preservation in its original form was the meaning of his life. In 1886, V. Didushitskim nature reserve was established under the name "Monument Penyatsky" where strictly prohibited for hunting and deforestation.

The main aim of creating a new nature park was the desire to preserve valuable forest species and rare steppe complexes. Natural Park is located on the northwest outskirts of Podolsk Upland, why it was called "Northern skirts". It is with this park begins the famous river Western Bug.

To the present time in the park preserved relic rock beech, which are of great value on a European scale. The park grows about 200 species of herbs and flowers, home to over 30 species of animals. Here you can see several species of ferns and orchids, snowdrops and many other rare plants. Among the animals and mammals, and reptiles, and amphibians, some of which, like plants, s Annecy in the Red Book of Ukraine.

Nature Park "Northern skirts" is also of great historical and cultural heritage.   On its territory are several temples, monuments, castles and museum. The park has amazing beauty of the cliffs and gorges that are completely created by nature.
