Monument to soldiers oposhninskim

The tragedy at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant will remain forever in the pages of Ukrainian history. In memory of the heroes of the liquidators in the village Oposhnya a monument to the soldiers. It is installed in one of the squares of the settlement.

The history of the monument

After the accident, many military men were sent to deal with the consequences. In Chernobyl, and residents were sent Oposhnya. Remembering the heroism of these men, the villagers have established this memorial.

Monument oposhnyanskim soldiers made very succinctly. But his appearance displayed the whole essence, the act committed by the soldiers, who did not spare their lives. But we are doing what is necessary to save lives. Before you appear four black pillars that form three arches. Central arch crowned by a gilded cross. Two other bells decorate. They seem to call and remind others about the terrible tragedy.

Near the monument has a granite plaque. On it were written the names of the soldiers who participated in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident. Many of the names were taken in the frame. This means that these heroic men are no longer alive. Near the monument are always flowers and burning candles.

Getting there

Before Oposhnya Poltava can be reached by car on the highway P42 or by bus. Then you can walk to the central square.
