Mass grave of prisoners of war, Zaporozhye

In Zaporozhye on the street is a kind of park homepage. He broke into this place by chance, here it is a mass grave of Soviet prisoners of war.

During the occupation of 1941-1943 years in the concentration camps were tortured 4940 soldiers, many of them were very young when they were called to the front. When the Soviet troops retook the city and clean it from the German invaders, the townspeople buried with honor the fallen heroes.

Memorial is an alley with flower bed in the center and shrubs on both sides. At the beginning of the alley with stone carved with a red star on it and the corresponding words. The end of the alley is a high stele with soaring cranes.

On both sides of the stele located stone pedestals. One of them bears the inscription, dedicated to the fallen soldiers.
