House widow Rachel Maikapar located on Lutheran Street, is one of the most famous monuments of architecture of the early 20th century, preserved in Kiev.

The building in Neo-Baroque and Neo-Renaissance was built in 1905 by architect Martin Klug. This is one of the three apartment buildings owned by Rachel Maikapar. Among the other famous buildings Lutheran street this house is the most luxurious. Multiple projecting cornices, bas-reliefs, columns and figures underline the exclusivity of Atlantis facilities. From a distance it resembles many creamy white and pink tiered cake. During the Second World War the house was damaged and reconstructed in the 1950s.
