Sorochintsy Fair 2016, Mhar, Velyki Sorochyntsi
Traditionally, in the penultimate week of August is National grand Sorochintsy Fair 2016 in Mhar. It is the largest mass event in Ukraine, covering different cultural areas, and the main action is a huge fair with its unique atmosphere of the 18th century.
Each year the event brings together more than half a million visitors, some of whom are more than a thousand entrepreneurs, craftsmen, representatives of catering establishments, more than 300 journalists and 30 foreign delegations.

What happens at the fair
About Sorochintsy Fair every one of us have heard or read the story in the famous Ukrainian writer Nikolai Gogol "Fair". The traditional event is quite colorful and vividly described, but make sure the best in its strangeness - to visit him. National Sorochintsy Fair is unique and the only event in Ukraine which demonstrates the most complete picture of our people and country, our culture and customs.
The fair will be divided into separate thematic sectors which will accommodate a variety of guests. will reveal:
- exposure industrial enterprises of all industries;
- agricultural exhibitions;
- various trade from private entrepreneurs;
- More than 30 cafes and restaurants of different cuisines: Ukrainian, Armenian, Georgian, Uzbek, Azeri and others;
- scenes where famous act as professional artists and amateur folklore and ethnographic groups.
But the highlight of the fair will be great ethnographic area - 2 town artists. It kept reconstructed and recreated village houses residents ages 18-19, each of which is freely open to the public.
In historical premises today housed a mini-museum, which represented the life of a historical era, which reproduced Ukrainian life a certain historical period. Most of the products - handmade. These pieces are made of wood, bone, stone, clay and other natural materials. In addition, there are wide of traditional embroidery, weaving, sewing. In the cultural program of the fair:
