Ostrich Farm, Pavshino

African birds have long taken root in Transcarpathia. Ostriches local residents no longer a novelty. And the birds that live on a farm near Mukachevo, generally were not born in Africa, and in Ukraine. So Transcarpathians say ostriches - it is almost like a local poultry. But that`s not everyone dares to breed for fun is not cheap, and care for more than two-meter birds on a daily basis and very carefully.

The history of the ostrich farm

Where a few decades ago housed the Soviet military, now quietly wandering ostriches. For the gate of the former armed military checkpoint instead you will meet the owner of an exotic farm - Vladimir.

In 2008, then - trade worker, he became interested ostriches. Visited the farm in Ternopil region - there and bought two birds. Another couple bought the first in Transcarpathia exotic farm in Hust. With them and started a new history tourist attraction Carpathians.

Females delight owners eggs - once or twice a week. And their hatches - male. Since it has a very obstinate character, pick up eggs farm owners and workers - not very easy. We have to divert food Grisha until someone else tries as a thief, steal eggs! And this should be done very carefully, because ostriches are very poorly tolerate stress!

If all goes well, the eggs are placed in an incubator, or use in food. One ostrich egg - 30 as usual for us chicken.
