The Mukachevo History Museum
Mukachevo Historical Museum has taken all the floors of the most famous landmarks - the castle "Palanok" . It was built in 15-17 centuries by unknown architects. It was assumed that the lock will perform administrative and defense functions, so it is built on a hill 68 meters in height. Today the castle is visible from any point of the city.
It is noteworthy that, despite the long history of the castle, the museum settled in it only in 1989. Initially, a small museum funds huddled in several rooms of the upper floors of the fortress. Gradually expanded exposure, patrons came from new items. At present the area of Mukachevo Historical Museum is 4000 square meters, are stored here interesting documents, relics, paintings, directly related to the history of the city as a whole and Transcarpathia.
The permanent exhibition divided into several thematic groups:
- Hall of children`s drawings. On the walls of the gallery presents 40 paintings on the theme of the castle "Palanok", created by the hands of small local residents.
- Mukachevo eyes ancestors. In this exhibition, one can see rare postcards, photographs of the city. Some of them have been recreated with today`s technology, while retaining the flavor of bygone days.
- Ethnographic exhibition occupies 4 halls of the museum. Each of them talks about the different nationalities living in the city at different times. Exhibition halls are decorated with folk costumes, military uniforms, as well as objects of everyday life of Ukrainians, Austrians, Jews.
- Historical exhibition located in 5 halls of the museum. The exhibition tells about all the milestones of the city`s history - from the foundation to the present.
- Hall Art Gallery and Eggs.
