Museum of Shipbuilding and Fleet in Mykolaiv

Over 30 years ago, July 30, 1978, the Day of the Navy in Nikolayev was a unique museum, unique in Ukraine there is no more - Museum of Shipbuilding and Fleet. City was not chosen by chance, because it Nikolaev since 1794 was the base of the Black Sea Fleet. The museum building - the former headquarters of the fleet. For some time it served as the residence of the chief. Construction was completed in 1794. The building is a fine example of Russian classical architecture.

A unique exhibition of the museum has more than 3,000 exhibits, arranged in 12 themed rooms, and demonstrates the history of shipbuilding in Ukraine, starting from the time of Kievan Rus` and ending with the present. Collection vehicles ages 18-19, navigational instruments, maps, documents are the gems of the collection. All of these things - witness the heroic battles and victories sailors.
