Building Poltava provincial official place

Building Poltava provincial official place was built in 1810 in the style of Russian classicism provincial project in 1803 by architect A. Zakharov. Part of a complex ensemble of Round Square.

Originally housing occupied only the central part of the Monastery area between the streets and October, and on the sides, a brick fence with gates arranged symmetrically. At the beginning of the XIX century the building looked a little different - housing occupied only the central part of the current structure. A three-storey house in the plan had two identical floors, and one technical ground floor. Only in 1866 the project Kharkov architect FI Danilova, side wings were added. Appearance of the building as the rest of the architectural ensemble of buildings, adorns a six-Doric portico, also sweeping staircase and the main entrance eaves bands.

In the XIX - XX Art. the building housed many provincial agencies: Provincial Board, the Treasury Chamber, "Order of public charity" and the district court. In 1917, after the October Revolution, the building housed the establishment of the provincial executive committee, and later in 1925 - Soviet and party organs Poltava region.

During the Great Patriotic War, in 1943 gubernatorial House official place, like many other buildings in the complex, was burnt. But in 1948 - 1952 years. destroyed building was restored by the Poltava DM Goldinova, with the participation of the architect EI Katonin other.

Since 1952 until today in a building located Poltava City Council of People's Deputies.
