Trinity Church, Berestechko

The history of the Church of the Holy Trinity, as the history of all Berestechko tightly connected with Polish culture. The church is an architectural and religious   monument. Construction of the cathedral was begun in the money Polish leader Tomas Karchevsky. In the late 17th century Berestechko belonged to his family. The first stone of the church was laid on July 24, 1711, as it was built at the monastery. So the Poles sought to perpetuate the victory Berestechko. Temple had the power to approve the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and to show the greatness of their faith. Construction of the temple was completed in 1765 by a different owner of the city - Jan Zamoyski.

Majestic views of Trinity church and amazes tourists these days. It was built in   Rococo style. Retellings of which have survived, we can judge the interior of the temple. Cathedral paintings adorned with scenes of battle Berestechko. Stored here and saber Yarema Vishnevetzkogo which in 1920 was taken by the Bolsheviks. Altars in the temple was eight, and the decoration is complemented by wooden sculptures and unique icons. In the basement of the church were several underground passages, but now they are unsuitable for use.

During the Second World War, the monastery damaged by an exploding shell. From the church were removed wooden sculptures, destroyed by the body. Some fragments of sculptures kept in the Olessky Castle . After the war, the church was a warehouse for harvesting grain, and from 1952 worked as a cheese factory building of the monastery. Today the church needs restoration work, but even in such a temple is striking in its   refinement and exquisite architecture.
