Werewolf

One of the most mysterious places in Vinnitsa region - the former Hitler`s headquarters "Werewolf" (translated from the German "werewolf" or "armed wolf"), located near the village of Strizhavka. The once powerful complex consisting of more than 80 outdoor buildings, several underground bunkers, leaving only the huge piles of concrete. But this is enough to imagine the magnitude of these structures, because the thickness of the walls of the bunker was a few meters.

Construction was started in the autumn of 1941 and lasted until the end of 1943, as the labor of prisoners of war and used the locals. It employs more than 10,000 people, almost all of them were destroyed after use. During the advance of the Red Army in March 1944, all communication rates have been undermined by the retreating Nazis.

In 2011, in the "Werewolf" opening the memorial of the victims of fascism, as an exhibition of military equipment and weapons of the Great Patriotic War. Staff at the guided tours, which allows a closer look at the history of these places.
