Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Church, Zhovkva
Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary can be seen in Zholkva, Lviv region. This small town in many ways is a unique place, it focused dozens of interesting sights and monuments. Among them Basilian monastery , Trinity Church , City Hall.
The wooden church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary - the pearl of Zholkva, it was built at the beginning of the 18th century, on the collected funds priest by the name of Kernitsky. The temple was founded in 1705 and is built in the typical style of the then fashion - classic big dome, symmetrical shapes and placed outside the building zvonarnya with three bells. It was rebuilt in the 1990s, the original version did not live up to the mid-20th century.
The building has been preserved original 1708 Zholkovsky artist and iconostasis was completely renovated in 1994. Located near the local cemetery, where are buried honorary citizens.
