Nicholas Church, Lower Stanivtsi

Nicholas Church, in the village of Lower Stanivtsi - another interesting and noteworthy item in Kitsman district Bukovina. Incidentally, an architectural monument has national status.

History Nicholas Church

Church was built in 1794, but in the early 19th century, it has undergone significant restructuring. In Soviet times, it is not closed. All the time it functioned as a parish church for the local Orthodox community.

Recently it is somewhat restored by the local community. It was replaced by a floor and main elements overlap. However, during the restoration of the church completely lost all the original appearance and now looks more like a newly built wooden church

What to see in the temple

The church is an interesting object in terms of wooden architecture in Bukovina. Its form is typical of Bukovina transition from archaic churches to Hutsul house type. On the domestic type combines its long sloping roof and a newer Hutsul - a dome over the central part of the house.

Now it has grown at the newly built church, which is more relevant to the needs of the growing community. In the church bell tower survived, a contemporary house, but it does not become a victim restoration and retained its shape.
