Natural Reserve "Gorgan" Nadvornaya
In the center of the Ukrainian part of the Carpathian Mountains, there is a wonderful nature reserve "Gorgan", intended to preserve the mountain landscapes untouched form.
Buffer zone "Gorgan" was officially formed in 1996. It is composed of: Reserves "Giurgiu" and "Sadko" Tracts "Gnilyak", "Cernik", "Elma", "Tables" and others. Planned creation of the reserve before the Second World War. But, with the advent of the German troops, the idea had to be postponed for a long 50 years.
Territorial reserve located at an altitude of 700 to 1755 meters above sea level. The total area of the reserve is greater than 5344 hectares. Part of the reserve are the mountains, the highest of them - it Dovbushanka and Medvezhik. The reserve originate more than 30 rivers.
Within the reserve is dominated by conifers and deciduous occupy only 1% of the total space. Total there are more than 450 species of plants. It is home to 42 species of animals and 103 - birds. More than 20 of these animals listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
