Church of Our Lady, Snyatin
In Snyatyn is the church of Our Lady of the Holy Scapular, built in 1721. It is worth noting that the Catholic parish in the city was founded in the late 15th - early 16th centuries.
Initially, the building was built of wood, but then rebuilt several times. In its present form the church was rebuilt and consecrated in 1857. Over the years 1928-1935 in the temple held a large-scale reconstruction.
In 1946 the church was closed and the local monks were forced to move to neighboring Poland. Before leaving, they took with them and the main shrine of the temple - icon of Our Lady of the Holy Scapular. In Soviet times, the church was the depot fire protection. His work`s Church was able to resume in 1993.
Type of building the church - the Basilica, as evidenced by its rectangular layout and the presence of one of the nave. The temple is built of brick and on the outside is covered with a special coating. To the right side of the temple was attached a small chapel.
At this point in the church Snyatyn acts for its purpose and is open to the public. The building is in good condition and is an architectural monument of local importance. Church in Snyatyn, as before, refers to the Roman Catholic Church.
