Veretsky pass
Veretsky pass located in the territory of the water between two rivers Transcarpathia - Latorica and Stry. Exactly on it goes official border between Lviv and Transcarpathian region. Veretsky pass popularly received other names. Sometimes it is called Vorotskim pass, Russian Gate, Sredneverevetskim pass.
A memorial monument built of seven blocks, tightly pressed together in the form of the original arch. Number seven chosen by chance. In 894-896 years through this pass on foot passed seven tribes Ugric peoples (Hungarians). In those days, they decided to move to the Urals in the lowland area Prydunays`ka. Hungarian tribes conquered the land from the local population - Bulgarians, thereby got a new home.
Veretsky pass established as a symbol of the conquest of freedom and a new place of residence. In 2008, the monument was restored and renovated. Today, as many years ago, with the eyes of travelers Veretskiy Pass offers amazing views of the Transcarpathian unique nature.
