Monument to Prince of Ostrog, Ostrog

Jail - one of the oldest cities in Ukraine. It is located on the river Vilija away from major highways and is known residence of Ostrog princes , influential tycoons. In gratitude for his invaluable contribution to the development of the city is a monument to Ostroh princes.

History of the monument

The monument known representatives of powerful family Volyn princes established in 2000 in a park in the town square. The architectural structure of the honored artist of authorship S. Chumakov is a five arches joined and topped with a cross. The arches are located a sculpture of three princes: Fedor in schema, Constantine, sword in hand, and Basil the Bible.

Through the efforts of Ostrog princes in the city was founded a printing house, establish schools and other educational institutions, such as the first academy, comprehensively encouraged education, granted protection to scientists and cultural figures.

How to get to the monument to Ostrog
