Rock temple

Ancient cave temple, carved in stone rocks many centuries ago, and is still a puzzle to historians and archaeologists. Scientists have not reached a consensus about who is its creator. It can be as the heathen, and the first Christians of Kievan Rus. According to one version, the "construction" of the temple dates back to the rocky 2-5 centuries AD, on the other - 11-16 centuries.

He is in the nature reserve "Bush" , which stretches nearly 7 hectares. At the entrance to the temple is an image of a rather strange bird landed on a tree without leaves. Beneath it is visible kneeling figure praying man. Among the images carved in stone can be distinguished deer and mysterious box, where previously there was an inscription. There is a version that the tree without leaves symbolizes death, the bird - the souls of the dead, and rock relief shows a woman who managed to survive the onslaught of enemies. But unambiguous interpretation of this figure has not received.

Some researchers believe that the rock images appeared in pagan times, in pre-Christian period of Kievan Rus. Other scientists have come to the conclusion that they were created in Before Slavic period. There in a cave, and other marks, inscriptions, which show that in the Middle Ages, monks lived here Catholics. But know this wonderful temple was only in the late 19th century, when it found the famous metropolitan archaeologist V. Antonovich.
