Holy Ascension Cathedral, Belgorod-Dniester

Holy Ascension Cathedral has a long history that began in 1810-ies. By local residents raised funds for the construction of the temple (on the site of an abandoned Turkish cemetery). The structure was elongated shape of the ship, which was later rebuilt in the four-cross in a traditional (for the 19th century) style of Russian classicism.
The rich decoration inside the church has changed since the days of the original ideas, detrimental impact during the Soviet era. In honor of the 2000th anniversary of the birth of Christ, there were carried out extensive renovation and a new chapel was attached. Today, restoration work continues the 40-meter bell tower.
