Reserve "Michael virgin"
In the Sumy region is a place that never touched by a plow. This meadow steppe area of 880 hectare Nature Reserve called "Michael`s virgin."
In 1741, Count Kapnist acquired the land in their possession and started to breed them pedigree trotters. Meadows is a great place for grazing and therefore not plowed. In 1928, the Counts of land divided into several parts, and one of them declared a nature reserve. 33 years later the Mikhailovsky virgin combined with such reserves: Stone graves , Streltsovskaya and Khomutovskaya steppe, creating a single Ukrainian steppe natural reserve.
In the early 21 th century estate "Michael`s virgin" was separated from the other three, and significantly increased in size. Heritage Reserve Steel More than 500 types of herbs, some of which are listed as endangered.
