Zhytomyr literary-memorial museum Korolenko
In the depths of a small manor Zhytomyr is an old house that was built in the first half of the 19th century. Manor fenced beautiful wrought iron fence. Here July 27, 1853 in the family of Zhitomir county judge Korolenko and his wife was born a prominent Russian humanist writer and social activist Vladimir Korolenko Galaktionovich. Now, this building is a literary memorial museum of the writer, who left the world his unforgettable works.
The essence of the museum is to study the biography and work of the writer, as well as in the search for facts and items related to the period of his life in Zhytomyr. Today in the museum are several thousand items, all of them are located in seven halls and tells about the life and work of Korolenko, his family and his circle of acquaintances. And also there is a separate room devoted to the creative activity of the writer.
Visitors can get acquainted with the general and thematic tours of the museum display, a variety of scientific and educational activities, literary and musical evenings and meetings with prominent people in the literary salon of the museum.
