Monument boxer

Monument boxer opened September 3, 2011 and is located in the city of Vinnitsa in front of the municipal market. An interesting fact is that this unique monument in our country is no more.

History of the discovery monument to the boxer

The monument was erected on the boxer means a local businessman and owner of a sports complex "Knockout" Sergei Cole on the opening day. The owner said the club said that the construction of this monument was inspired by a monument to the boxer Rocky Balboa, which is located in Philadelphia (USA). It was then that the idea to create something similar, as the work in the winery and one of the best boxing schools. By the way, the founder of the complex had once engaged in this sport, but directly related to it is not.

Figure boxer was not created by someone`s appearance. It is a collective image of the athlete created Ukrainian sculptor Vladimir Ovrahom and his sons. The figure has a height of about 2 m and formed of bronze. Worth boxer on a marble pedestal, which brought specially from India. On it are engraved the words: "Honor. Courage. Force". Weight of the monument is about 400 kg.

In 2013, the figure of the boxer and his artist-creator were written in the Ukrainian Book of Records as the only country in the territory of the monument of its kind. The monument represents the symbol of the spirit of the sport, and combines those qualities that are written on the pedestal. It promotes a healthy lifestyle and sports.
