Shadow Pushkin

Art Object "Shadow Pushkin" appeared in Odessa in 2013. An unusual monument to the famous writer is a three-meter figure of specially treated brick and stone pavers. It is this kind of coverage Odessa streets was during Pushkin`s life in the town in 1823. Interesting slope of the image gives the impression of movement of the shadow, and the views of a silhouette - it`s one of the copies of the author`s own sketches, well-known from his manuscripts.

Place shadow installation was not chosen by chance, Pushkin lived here during the 13 months of reference. In the 19th century, at the corner of Deribasovskaya Richelieu and operated hotel where the famous writer rented a room to stay in the first few months. Another remarkable monument to Pushkin is very close. Bronze sculpture of a full-length set on the sidewalk, the poet depicts 24-year-old boys, how came to Odessa at the dawn of the 19th century.
