House South Russian society (YUROTAT)

At the intersection of Saksaganskogo and Petlura in Kiev is an old building belonging YUROTAT - South-Russian society of trade of pharmaceutical goods. Extraordinarily beautiful home is decorated with multi-reliefs in the ancient Greek style and antique columns. The main entrance is decorated with busts of Hippocrates and Avicenna.

History Society YUROTAT

Pharmacy Adolf Martsinchika in the late 19th century was the best pharmaceutical establishments in the city. Its activities are continuously improved. When the pharmacy was open at the time a modern laboratory, which carried out various studies and experiments. In 1881, Adolf Martsinchik became chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kiev. Subsequently, the company merged with the Laboratory of Steam South Russian society and emerged Association "YUROTAT."

YUROTAT House, which is now a valuable architectural monument, was built in the years 1898-1899 at the expense of the well-known pharmacist. The architect was Alexander Chojnacka. The walls of the house were placed warehouses and offices of the South-Russian society. In 1920, all the company`s assets were nationalized, and the building has long housed the Kiev regional pharmacy management.

Today the building of the South-Russian society are public and private enterprises and organizations.

For lovers of old architecture walk through the streets and Petlyura Saksahanskoho promises to be interesting, because in the neighborhood of famous buildings YUROTAT located a few mansions, built in the 19th century.
