Eurovision 2017: program, tickets and entertainment in Kyiv, Kyiv
Excitement around Eurovision 2017 is getting bigger and bigger. Tickets are scattered like hot cakes. Hotels and hostels in Kyiv promise not to increase prices to crazy numbers. The crew is organizing entertainment program that will be interesting not only for visitors of the famous song contest, but to all Kyiv citizens and anyone who will be in Kyiv from 8 to 13 May 2017.
The program and tickets for Eurovision 2017
The contest will last from 9 to 13 May. The venue of the Eurovision 2017 is the International Exhibition Centre at 15 Brovary Avenue („Livoberezhna” Metro station, that is now being rebuilt ). International Exhibition Centre accommodates up to 13 000 people and it is the largest exhibition center in Ukraine.
The official tickets distributor for Eurovision-2017 is the company Concert.ua. The final batch of tickets for those who want to see the competition in Kyiv firsthand came out on 21–27 February.
The official motto of Competition is "Celebrate Diversity".
The price of tickets for this year's Eurovision ranges from several dozen to several hundred euros. If you look at the international websites, especially on «Viagogo», you can notice that the most popular are the tickets that cost a little more than thousand gryvnyas. You should remember that if you purchase tickets early you will save money!
Events of Eurovision-2017, which you can buy tickets for
- Semi Final One – May 9. Italy, UK and Spain will be the first to vote. The program of Semi Final One is like this: Third Rehearsal (4 pm), Live Broadcast (10 pm). Within the framework of Semi Final One the Jury Show will be held on the eve of 8 May, at 10 pm.
- Semi-Final Two – May 11. Ukraine, France and Germany will continue the vote. The program of the Semi-Final Two is: Third Rehearsal (4 pm), Live Broadcast (10 pm). Jury Show will take place on the eve (May 10) at 22:00.
- Final – May12–13. Grand finale involves Jury Show (May 12, 10 pm) and Third Rehearsal (May 13, 2 pm).
Interesting facts about the Eurovision-2017
- Based on preliminary results in Ukraine, the younger generation of musicians are taking over, because many finalists are not famous among the audience.
- More than 50% of tickets have been already purchased by the European Union citizens and the Australians. Others were bought by Ukrainians.
- Eurovision in Ukraine has already had its first scandals: the opening in St Sophia Cathedral, logos, preparations (in the process of which the whole team quit the job!) – All this has already caused and continues to cause a lot of talk and emotions.
- All of the Eurovision sites have a united queue. It controls the number of customers that buy tickets for the contest. The queue is automatically activated during the peak numbers of visitors. Otherwise, nobody could have bought a ticket in the rush hour.
- Kyiv is being actively prepared for the contest: the capital is being equipped with the large-scale video surveillance and modern data center, greenery is being planted, new vehicles and routes are being introduced, the work of hundreds of volunteers is organised. Meanwhile emergency cars of the capital are being equipped with GPS-navigators.
Themed entertainment zones in Kyiv
The capital is getting ready to open five important entertainment centers. These are:
- Trinity Square (city center, "Olimpiyska" metro station).
- Sofia’s Square (center, "Maidan Nezalezhnosti" and "Zoloti Vorota" metro station).
- Kontraktova Square (Podil, "Kontraktova Ploscha" metro station).
- Poshtova Square (Podil, "Poshtova Ploscha" metro station).
- National Historical and Architectural Museum "Kyiv Fortress" (Pechersk, "Pechersk" metro station).
The jury will determine the way they will look like. The final works of the contest participants should be submitted before February 24, 2017.
