Museum Kolochavsky bokorash, Kolochava

One of the youngest, but equally interesting museums Kolochava is "Kolochavskyy rafters." Locals call it the branch of forestry museum. The main activity - a reflection of the ancient profession rafters and cutting technology and Swimming forest river.

The history of the profession rafters

Earlier technology fusion forests was carried out using fast and flowing mountain rivers. We used this method to the mid 20th century. In the valley where the village is located Kolochava, winds Tereblya river that floats high above sea level. It has become a very convenient tool for local rafters. Huge tree trunks tied together, forming rafts and lowered into the water. The main and most dangerous job was to manage rafters of the raft on the river.

Since 1951, began construction of the dam Tereble-Ritskoyi hydropower. Construction of the reservoir Transcarpathians enabled to use electricity, but the rafters forever lost their jobs. So dangerous and difficult profession became unnecessary, because a huge concrete dam is not allowed to float forest river.

The museum exhibition

The interior of the museum "Kolochavskyy rafters" in the style of genuine Harvester restaurant. It placed the tools woodcutters and rafters. Guests presented the opportunity to be photographed truly ancient Bokor and to see a unique documentary about dangerous work rafters.

Museum "Kolochavskyy rafters" in Kolochava located on Friendship Street, on the outskirts of the village, a large area of the museum "Old Village". To get to the village in two ways:

• Public transport. By train towards Uzhgorod get to the station Volovets , from the local bus to Kolochava.
• Own transport. Go to the village road M06 Lower Gate , which turn towards Volovets and move in the direction of Intermountain . This village is a pointer "Kolochava."
