Kurgan stelae

Stone images - ancient statues, humanoid statues. Representatives of the ancient peoples have installed them on the mound. Large number of articles found in the east of Ukraine, in the steppes of Russia, Southern Siberia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Mongolia and Central Asia.

In Dnipropetrovsk Historical Museum named after Dmitry Yavornytsky can be seen today in the richest collection of stone sculptures Ukraine. Collection includes unique Neolithic artifacts, which have no analogue in any other museum in Europe. Most of the collection consists of the Polovtsian statues dating from the 12-13 centuries.
