Ornithological Reserve “Falcon Rocks”

Ornithological Reserve “Falcon Rocks”

Ornithological Reserve “Falcon Rocks” is one of the most beautiful protected areas of the Ukrainian Carpathians. On the protected area of beech and coniferous forests, many species of birds nest. Vertical rocks in the northern and eastern part of the reserve are home to birds of prey, many of which are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. When walking in the reserve, you can gather berries and mushrooms. Not far from the reserve, the famous Lumshory Waterfalls on the Turychka River can be seen. Bathing in the Old Lumshory Tub is an integral part of the rest in this mountain region.

The closest city to the preserve is Perechyn, at a distance of 30 kilometres. You can go there by car – follow the road Kyiv-Lviv-Chop; in Svaliava, turn to the village of Poliana, follow the signs to Perechyn. After the road sign to the village of Turyi Remety and the bridge, turn right. You can take a taxi bus Uzhhorod-Lumshory, from the bus station “Uzhhorod-2.” A commuter train runs from Uzhhorod to Perechyn as well.
