Mountain Gendarmes

Mountain gendarmes on the list of the most popular peaks of the Carpathians. These hills are located in the territory of one of the highest ski resort in Ukraine - Dragobrat. And the mountains are only two - the first and the second policeman.

Gore first Gendarme

Gore is part of the Svydovets massif. The height of the Civil Guard of the First is about 1763 meters above sea level. Vertex please both professional skiers and beginners. Two pretty steep mountainside. Trails them difficult and dangerous. Two other relatively gentle slope and safe. Snow is here until May.

Mountain, really like a policeman, is the guardian of the Carpathians. On top of the Civil Guard in good weather you can see Goverla. At the top of a memorial cross in memory of the dead climbers. It serves as a reminder to all brave today.

Mount second gendarme

The gendarme second also relates to Svydovets mountain range. Its height exceeds 1780 meters mark. This mountain has an even more steep. Trails are suitable exclusively to professionals.

At the foot of the mountain stretched a small valley. In the spring, it is filled with aromas of herbs and flowers. The lower level slopes covered with forests. You can pick berries and mushrooms. And if you`re lucky, and try special forest honey.

Routes through the mountains gendarmes

Routes through these places often choose extreme tourists. You can select one of the following:

• From the village of Yassin to the village of Bistrica. The distance of the route - 70 kilometers.
• From Dragobrat to Rahova. The duration of way - 40 kilometers.

During the passage of the route you will also conquer the mountain Bliznitsa, Terentin and others.

Getting there

In your own car you should go from Ivano-Frankivsk, on the highway to the town of Uzhgorod Yassin. You can also get regular bus on the same route.
