Day of Ivano-Frankivsk in 2015, Ivano-Frankivs'k
In 2015, Ivano-Frankivsk celebrate its 353 Day of town.
The celebration will take place from 8 to 10 May.
May 7, 1662 Stanislav (now Ivano-Frankivsk) received Magdeburg rights and city status. This day is historically considered to be the Day of the city. The modern name in honor of the Ukrainian writer and poet Ivan Franko, the city received only in 1962.
Official events dedicated to the city, starting with laying flowers to the monument of Ivan Franko. All entertainment is traditionally held in the central square near the Town Hall and in the Stanislaviv fortress.
The program of celebration:
- this year will host the International Festival of the Carpathian Culinary Heritage, where z`yizhdzhayutsya master chefs from Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Ukraine;
- from 8 to 10 May in Ivano-Frankivsk will blacksmiths Celebration 2015 ;
- fairs;
- workshops;
- performances of creative groups.
For those wishing to walk in Ivano-Frankivsk on May 11 will be organized free tours of the historic city.
The first tour will begin at 12:00.
