House zhupanatu (Art Museum)

Zhupanata House in the historic center of Uzhgorod is a beautiful palace buildings with sustained severe architecture of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It is located on a small hill, enveloped by lush greenery, the ancient garden. Once there was a forest, but with the beginning of an active urban development in the 20th century the neighboring streets widened and garden courtyard becomes smaller. Today, guests can check former luxury, walking around the house and looking for a tour inside.

The walls of the building is the city art museum since 1979. Here, a collection of art works of Ukrainian, Hungarian, Polish artists since the 17-20 centuries. The history of the house is closely linked with the liberation and revolutionary activity of the Ukrainian and Hungarian nationalists. On the building clearly visible emblem of the organization, you can see on the facade of the main entrance. It should be noted that the common name "house zhupanata" was given to the people at a time when local authorities are in session and management of the city.
