Hercules Monument

Monument to the ancient Greek hero Hercules is located in Uzhgorod . Statue of molten iron, made in 1842. It depicts the son of Zeus and Alcmene,   many-headed hydra of winning water. The murder of the snake was his second of the twelve feat.

Initially,   sculpture of Hercules was on spa resort in the village Uzhok . There has been a source is located, who had incredible healing properties. That is why it was accepted the decision to put him near the statue of the hero. In times of war house was destroyed, and decided to move the monument to the territory   Uzhgorod castle where he stands today.
