Mountain Menchul

Mountain Menchul - this is one of the highest mountains in Ukraine. In order to achieve the title of "dvuhtysyachnika" it lacks only two meters, because the top of the height of 1998 meters.

Mountain Menchul (Romanian Menchul) has gentle slopes, so to get to the top is not so difficult. From Menchul originates Rozshibenik ridge and at the same time the top of the Montenegrin part of the array.

Interesting facts about the top

• On the night of 18 on August 19, 1943 on Mount Menchul a landing, codenamed "Transcarpathians". He commanded them Ferenc Molasses. They operated behind enemy lines 8 months and sent information on the military situation of the Hungarians of the Soviet army.
• A group of activists in 2009, wanted to make an artificial mound on the mountain, so as to increase the Menchul up to 2000 meters.

How to get to Menchul

Before the mountains Menchul can be reached from the villages: Dzembronya , Kolochava , Bystrets , Yassin . These settlements can be reached by bus from Ivano-Frankivsk , Uzhhorod and Lviv . The easiest way to get to Kolochava, because it is a popular tourist destination. And Yassin stop trains that go to Rachel from Kyiv and Lviv.

Mountain Menchul located between the peaks Dzembronya and Brebeneskul . The top is on the border of the Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
